About the Course
The course of Development Economics has been introduced with an aim to equip the students with the basic concepts of economic growth and development.
The course covers topics related to economics, politics and history.
It provides an insight into examining the problems, like poverty, inequality, population, etc., arising by focussing merely on economic growth in the less developed countries and helps in analyzing the causes of growth in such parts of the world.
It is an attempt to enable the students to understand the conditions conducive to economic growth and also its deterrents.
This would not only facilitate their knowledge of the contemporary issues of developing economies but would also help in a better understanding of the economic implications of the alternative development strategies and policies.
